
Jim Triplett

Jim has been the head
coach of the Cabrillo Threshers since 1975 and the head swim
coach at Aptos High School since 1981. Jim has won
fifteen SCCAL team championships in girls swimming, placed in the
top twelve at CCS six times, and coached fifteen high school
All-Americans (nine boys, six girls). Over twenty of his athletes
have gone on to swim in college, including Arizona State, UCLA, UC
Santa Barbara, and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. In 1995, Jim was
selected as the girls Coach-of-the-Year by the California Coaches
Association, and that same year he was also presented with the
prestigious “George Haines Award” as the Pacific
Association’s Men and Women’s Senior Coach-of-the-Year.
In 1997, Jim was selected as the CCS Honor Coach in girls
swimming.

Tanner Henning
Pre-Senior Coach

This is Tanner's fifth
year coaching with the Threshers, and he coaches the Pre-Seniors at
Aptos High. Tanner started swimming with the Threshers in 1992 and
he continued to swim with the team through college. After competing
in swimming and water polo at Aptos High, Tanner continued to
participate in both sports at Cabrillo College. At Cabrillo, he set
a school record in the 1650 freestyle, and achieved All America
status in several events. After 2 years at Cabrillo, Tanner
transferred to Cal Poly: San Luis Obispo where he swam distance
freestyle and backstroke for the Mustangs. Tanner received a BS
degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration from Cal
Poly. Tanner also coaches the JV swim team at Aptos High, and is
currently student teaching at an elementary school with the goal of
having his own classroom. In his spare time Tanner likes to watch
all sports. He roots for the Raiders, A’s, and Warriors.
Tanner also likes to play poker and hang out with his dogs Marlee
and Kona.

Matt Nauman
Junior Coach (Simpkins)

Matt Nauman has been the
coach of the junior group at Simpkins pool since Summer 2012.
Matt was a competitive swimmer from age 5-22 with the Madison, WI
Shorewood Sharks and Badger Aquatic Club . At Madison West
High School, Matt earned 3 Varsity letters in swimming, he reached
the WIAA State Championship meet, and was elected team captain by
his peers during his senior season. Matt continued on
to swim in college at UCSC where he is ranked in the all time top
10 in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle. He achieved all
conference honors in the 1650 and the 800 free relay and was again
voted team captain his senior season.Matt is currently in his
third season as an assistant coach for the UCSC NCAA swim team and
coached 2 years at SLUG aquatics before joining Threshers in Summer
2012.

Barbara Daddario
Junior Coach (Aptos)
Email
Barbara has been coaching with the Threshers since 2004,
starting as a pre-comp swim coach, then coaching Beginners and
Juniors at Simpkins and is now our Junior Coach at Aptos. She
started her swimming career with Santa Cruz Aquatics Team in 1992
when she was 7 years old and swam competitively for 8 years with
SCAT (now SCCA). She moved to the Cabrillo Threshers in 2000 when
she was 15 and swam with Jim Triplett for 3 years when a knee
injury ended her club team swimming career. She took 2 years off
and was able to swim on the Cabrillo College swim team for the 2005
and 2006 seasons, setting a school record in the 50 butterfly. She
now swims recreationally whenever she can. Barbara graduated from
Cabrillo College in 2007 with an AS degree in Culinary Arts and
worked in a local bakery for a year and a half. She lives in
Corralitos with her husband, Anthony and their dog, Stanley. Their
first child, Titus, was born in April 2012.

Allison Lovell
Beginner & Pre-Jr Coach (Simpkins)

Allie has been coaching since 2010.
She was an assistant coach for the Cabrillo College swim
team, coached a season at Soquel High and also taught swimming
classes at Cabrillo College for eight years . Allie started
swimming competitively at the age of eight on this very swim
team. She won many local and regional championships and
placed at many National championships. She attended Aptos
high school where she was undefeated all four years in the league
and was also a two-time All-American in the 100 yard backstroke.
She is now a part of the Athletic Hall of Fame at Aptos High
School. Allie was a walk on swimmer at Arizona State
University her freshman year, but shoulder injuries kept her out of
the pool her second year. She returned to the area and swam
for the Cabrillo Seahawks where she was a six-time Community
College All-American, and state champion in the 100 backstroke in
1999. She also competes at the Masters swimming level and
placed 3rd in both the 50 and 100 meter backstroke at the World
Masters Championships in 2006. Allie has an A.S. degree in
Early Childhood Education and her passion is to teach. Currently
Allie works at an elementary school in a special education class
and she just recently went back to school last spring to pursue her
teaching career. She is studying for a B.S. dual major in
Elementary Education and Special Education. She is really
excited to be a part of this team and to teach something that she
loves and that has been such a huge part of her
life.

Katie Greer
Beginner & Pre-Jr Coach (Aptos)

This is Katie's
second season coaching with the Threshers. Katie started swimming
with the Sebastopol Sea Serpents when she was 9 years old and at 15
a shoulder injury ended her competitive swimming career. She kept
swimming for fun while learning to coach pre-comp & beginners.
After high school she became the Head Age-Group coach for SSS,
realizing her desire to continue coaching for life and eventually
start her own team for low-income children. In 2007-2010 she was
selected as a Zone 3 All-Star coach and in 2012 was selected as a
Western Zones All-Star coach. Katie continued her education at
Santa Rosa Junior College for American Sign Language and English,
with a focus in Early Education. While currently taking a break
from school, she plans on going back in two years. For now, Katie
is enjoying living in Santa Cruz, playing with her animals, baking
and reading.
